International Service

As part of Rotary International, Classic City Rotary is also involved in educational and humanitarian projects beyond our borders. For instance, over the past 20 years club members have led international projects serving communities in Mexico, Costa Rica, Zimbabwe, and India. Classic City Rotary regularly provides funding for Rotary-sponsored “Global Grants,” including (for instance) clean water and sanitation initiatives in Haiti through Rotary’s HANWASH initiative; a “mothers’ milk bank” project in India; and with consistent funding support of Rotary’s ongoing work to eradicate polio worldwide.

Through club member Milton Masciadri, a world-renowned double-bassist and UNESCO Artist for Peace, Classic City Rotary has also collaborated on international music education projects. This has included sending music students from UGA to study in Italy, bringing students from other countries here, and sponsoring multiple performances and master classes.

Classic City Rotary also regularly hosts international college students through the Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP) for a year of study at the University of Georgia.
